The appeal of the hotelA design space where history and modernity merge.Built on the site of the former Kyomachi Building, completed in 1926 (Taisho 15), this hotel features a wooden structure in the lobby that utilizes repurposed old materials, creating a space where Taisho Romanticism and contemporary art harmoniously blend. As the first IHG premium brand "voco" in Japan, it offers a relaxed yet high-quality brand experience. Playful hospitality, such as distributing Osaka-style candy as a welcome treat, has been well-received.Convenient location in the heart of OsakaLocated just a 3-minute walk from Higobashi Station and a 5-minute walk from Yodoyabashi and Honmachi Stations, this property offers excellent access for both business and sightseeing. It's also conveniently located near Utsubo Park (approximately a 3-minute walk) and the Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art (approximately a 10-minute walk), providing easy access to Umeda, Shinsaibashi, and Universal Studios Japan without transfers. Situated in a business district, it's quiet at night, ensuring a peaceful stay.A fulfilling dining experience and commitment to sustainability.Breakfast is a buffet style where you can choose your main dish from Japanese or Western options. Western options include grilled dishes and egg dishes, while Japanese options include rolled omelets and a three-tiered bento box of Kyoto-style side dishes. The cafe and bar are open throughout the day, allowing you to relax all day long. Sustainable considerations are also a notable feature, such as bedding made from recycled materials, water-saving showerheads, and bamboo amenities.Accessibility InformationWe have two ADA-compliant accessible rooms. The hotel has two premium rooms (30 sq m, king bed) that meet ADA standards for wheelchair accessibility. These rooms feature a turning area in the bathroom, a raised toilet seat with handrails, and a handheld shower with a hose. The rooms have walk-in showers instead of bathtubs, making bathing easier for wheelchair users. Built in 2023, the facilities are new and clean.Barrier-free access within the buildingThe elevators are ADA compliant, and the shared restrooms are wheelchair accessible. The front desk, restaurant, and cafe & bar are all located on the first floor, and guest room floors can be accessed directly by elevator. As it is a newly constructed building completed in 2023, there are few steps throughout the building, making it easy to move around in a wheelchair. The route from Higobashi Station is also relatively smooth, as it passes through flat sidewalks in the office district.Standard rooms are also accessible. As a new hotel that opened in 2023, even the standard guest rooms have minimal steps at the entrance and inside the rooms, and are designed to be relatively flat and spacious. Even if the fully accessible rooms are fully booked, depending on your physical condition and the level of support you require, you can still enjoy a comfortable stay in a standard guest room.Report from the person in charge of the on-site visitWhile the number of accessible rooms at voco Osaka Central by IHG is limited, I found it very practical that more than half of the rooms, including premium twin rooms, have walk-in showers . From the perspective of a travel assistant, it's crucial to carefully determine whether a fully accessible room is necessary or if a comfortable stay is possible with certain conditions met. In that regard, I felt this hotel offers a wide range of options for making recommendations.Especially in Japan, the number of barrier-free rooms that can be confidently recommended is still limited, so having options other than accessible rooms is of great value. Depending on the user's physical condition and the assistance required, a stay in a premium twin room is also a highly recommended option.*Notes regarding feesThe transfer fee is an estimated fare for two people traveling by a care taxi from Kansai International Airport to the hotel. The hotel rates are calculated based on two people sharing a room.Hotel rates are based on room-only stays.Hotel and transfer fees vary depending on the season and booking timing.
